I am a qualified counsellor/psychotherapist trained in Adlerian counselling. My current location is in Princes Risborough and Brill in Buckinghamshire where I have a quiet, comfortable and easily accessible consulting room at a GP surgery.
NEWSFLASH - Corona Virus Update: At the moment I have cancelled my clients at both surgeries going forward. The surgery is trying to limit people coming in and I feel this is the best way to keep others and myself safe. I am looking at the possibility of video counselling through Skype/Zoom and if possible I may be able to offer this in the near future. Watch this space for further updates. I hope you all stay safe and follow government guidelines about social distancing. It's a scary time for us all but it will pass.
Counselling offers you the experience of talking with a skilled helper, who provides a comfortable space for you to freely explore a difficulty which may be of concern to you. As a counsellor I provide you with a strong level of support to help you work towards a solution, best suited to your situation. Whatever the difficulty, you are always assured understanding and non-judgement. For a lot of clients it is so much easier to speak to a stranger then any friend or family member.
Fundamental to my approach is the belief that with the right support, we all have the potential to continue to change and grow throughout our lives. By understanding ourselves and taking responsibility for our feelings we can find greater happiness. To decide to come to counselling takes courage but it can be the first step on a journey of self-awareness, healing and fulfilment.
How can Counselling help?
To be human means we will, at some time, go through periods of emotional pain, distress or unhappiness. Normally we are able to cope and get through these with or without help of friends or family.
But sometimes these thoughts can overwhelm us and have a negative impact on our health, well being, relationship and our enjoyment of life. We can feel stuck, alone and lost. Sometimes this can make it very difficult to share your feelings with others and can lead to a deep sense of isolation and low mood.
